Autistic Haven proudly announces our award from Unltd, the UK’s foundation for social entrepreneurs. The award’s funding and tailored business support will significantly help Autistic Haven to widen positive social impact for the Autistic community. This year, we have used the funding to launch our Parent & Child Art sessions, which will run for six months. Parent & Child Art Sessions

We provide Parent and Child Art and craft sessions for Autistic children with high needs and communication difficulties who live in Bala and surrounding areas.

We offer sessions two Sundays per month for up to eight children and their parent/parents/carers. We provide all the materials in a relaxed and safe setting for free. Playdough and games are also provided.

The Art session runs from 2.30 to 3.30 pm, with a 30-minute period before and after designed to ease transitions.

Rowenna Williams of Celf Gwyllt Cymru delivers the Art and Craft sessions. Rowenna is an Arts in Health Practitioner specialising in weaving, environmental art, and mindfulness. Rowenna has been a home educator for many years and has a wealth of craft knowledge and endless art activity ideas. We chose her to deliver the sessions because of her specialist skills, not just in crafts but also in working with people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and ages. Rowenna works responsively to ensure each child and parent achieves something they are proud of.

We will run the sessions for six months, after which we hope to secure additional funding to continue the sessions.

At the end of the six months, we will host an art exhibition in Bala of the pieces created by the families. The art exhibition aims to challenge myths about Autistic children, promote positive messages about their creativity and celebrate the diversity of our community.

Post-Xmas Pea Fair

Get ready for the ultimate winter celebration – a fun-filled event to fill the void after Christmas for families with Autistic members.

Join us for the Post Xmas Winter Pea Fair at Holt Lodge Hotel in Wrexham on January 6th. This in-person event is the perfect way to celebrate the winter season with family and meet new friends. Get ready for a fun-filled afternoon of exploring a variety of stalls hosted by other families with Autistic members for free.

What is a Pea Fair? Like a village fete, each family has a stall, and everyone is a customer.

What makes it different? No money exchanges hands! Instead, you are given chickpeas to use as currency.

What should I bring for my stall? Your family can choose to do or sell anything on your stall (table): playing a game like Guess Who, Kerpluk, cards, homemade cakes/cookies, face painting, hair braiding, nail painting, guessing the number of sweets in a jar, tombola, homemade crafts, magic tricks, a challenge, making slime, the list is endless….anything goes!

Family members take turns’ maning’ the stall while the rest visit the stalls of other families to spend their chickpeas. It’s super fun and easy – a great way to make new friends without the pressure of money being involved!

Art Exhibition - June 29-30

Don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience! Check out what our customers said about the last camp and secure your spot today!

“The camp showed us that, by giving both our children an extended period of time, in a safe and non-judgemental space, with caring adults and amazing children, they can achieve far more socially than we had imagined. This means that we have a more realistic understanding of how to help them become their best selves, hopefully through giving them more experiences such as these.”

“Knowing that my children were safe and having fun with like-minded families was fabulous. Everyone was so helpful and the children really had a good time just being themselves,  without any judgement from others around us. It was great to have a pizza treat”
